A Career as a Web Developer

A Web Developer is a programmer who creates programs and applications for the World Wide Web using programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They will also most likely utilize other languages to set up email services, user authentication, databases, and other technical aspects of websites.

Web Developers create attractive, functional websites for their clients’ products and services that appeal to a wide audience. They should be able to identify potential site users and design a website to appeal to these constituents. Web Developers meet with clients to discuss their vision for their website, and to discuss how to keep their website functioning and up to date. They might construct the layout of a website, creating a visually interesting home page and user-friendly design and also write the content for the website. After a website is up and running, they make sure that the site is functional on all web browsers, periodically testing and updating as needed.
